Uber is offering free rides to Hurricane Harvey evacuees in the Austin area.
The ride-hailing service says rides to and from Austin shelters will be offered at no charge, up to a maximum of $50 per ride.
The discount will automatically be applied, Uber said.
The four locations in Austin on Uber’s list of shelters are:
- Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez St.
- Delco Center, 4601 Pecan Brook Drive
- LBJ High School, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive
- Tony Burger Activity Center, 3200 Jones Road
Similar offers are available to evacuees in Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
