Who among us hasn’t misspelled a word and posted it in an email or public message while typing quickly on a digital device? When you’re the president, though, it can create ripples that reverberate across the Twittersphere.
In a late-night Tweet, Donald Trump posted on his Twitter account, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.” It seemed to be a misspelling of the word “Coverage,” but after the original Tweet was deleted and the president followed up with, “Who can figure out he true meaning of “covfefe,” the mystery deepened. It didn’t help when press secretary Sean Spicer suggested the word is an inside joke.
