Instagram reveals slideshow feature with newest update
Posted February 22nd, 2017
Instagram doesn’t want you to waste any more time deciding which picture to post. It wants you to post all of them.
Or at least the picture sharing app’s latest update encourages it. Today the company introduced a feature that will allow users to post up to 10 pictures at once and create Instagram “slideshows.” The posts will appear in users’ feeds with small, blue dots along the bottom, indicating to others that there are pictures to swipe through.
On an individual user’s profile the slideshow posts will have their own version of the Instagram logo on them.
Instagram product manager told Refinery29 that the new feature was, “inspired by members of our community, who have told us that there are times they want to share more than just one moment from a memorable experience in their feed.”

This type of post might not be completely unfamiliar to those who frequent Instagram. Advertisers were already allowed to use a similar kind of post on the app.
