"Roots of Sarkos," a cooperative multiplayer platforming game developed by 20 students and led by Austin video-game legend Warren Spector, is already available as a free download on the itch.io website. But the event, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Jesse H. Jones Communication Center Building A on the UT Austin campus, is a chance to meet the Moody College of Communication students and to try out the game in a group environment.
The event is also a chance to wish Spector well on his next venture. After this semester, He'll be leaving Denius-Sams to work with Boston-based OtherSide Entertainment on "System Shock 3," a sequel to the game series he worked on for Origin Studios.
Here's a video from last year's event for the game "The Calm Before."
