Austin-based website hosting company Hostway has purchased Toronto-based MyHosting.com and Mail2Web from California IT distributor Ingram Micro, Hostway said Wednesday.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hostway CEO Emil Sayegh said the acquisition will boost his company’s reach because MyHosting.com performs similar cloud and web hosting services, while Mail2Web offers email hosting services.
“It will help us package our products and will give us the ability to further penetrate the telecommunications market we are targeting,” Sayegh said in an interview. “We target telecommunications, healthcare, fintech and (Internet of Things).”
Sayegh said Hostway plans to hire roughly 30 employees from Ingram Micro, which is headquartered in Irvine, Calif.
Hostway’s clients include major telecommunications firms such as Charter Communications, known as Spectrum, and Comcast, Sayegh said. Businesses that contact companies such as Spectrum to ask for website building help are provided with technology from Hostway, Sayegh said.
Founded in 1998, privately held Hostway employs about 500 people and has data centers in Austin and the Tampa Bay area, as well as in Canada, South Korea and Germany.
