The University of Texas is offering a 24-week boot camp to start in October for those who want to pick up skills in data science. The Data Analytics and Visualization Boot Camp starts Oct. 3 and will run 24 weeks at the UT Thompson Conference Center. It will take place on evenings and Saturdays to accommodate work schedules of prospective students.
The camp is being offered in partnership with Trilogy Education Services. Trilogy Education founder and CEO Dan Sommer said, “It is currently predicted that by 2018, there will be 1.5 million more data science job openings than candidates to fill these positions. The Data Analytics and Visualization Boot Camp at UT Austin is one more example of the power of continuing education to help provide students with job-ready technical skills while providing a much-needed talent pipeline to employers.”
No previous data science experience is required, but applicants should have a basic understanding of coding. More information can be found at techbootcamps.extendedcampus.utexas.edu.
