Austin-based marketing firm Threshold has acquired Canadian boutique agency Carve Creative + Strategy to form Threshold/Carve, a digital marketing agency for clients in retail, technology, healthcare and financial service and other industries.
Threshold made the acquisition to strengthen its services, but also to have a broader reach, said chief strategy officer John Wilkinson.
“The acquisition will allow us to continue our growth by expanding not only our creative capabilities but our footprint in North America,” Wilkinson said.
The buyout means that Threshold will now have a presence in Waterloo, Ontario, a city with a notable tech presence that Threshold executives say could strengthen the company’s success with its target audiences.
While the deal closed on June 30, the firms said they have since been working on Threshold/Carve’s strategy as a united company.
“Both agencies have brought together well-established reputations for building campaigns that are meaningful, memorable and measurable,” said former Carve president Dave Freund, who is now the chief creative officer at Threshold/Carve. “Our creative teams in the U.S and Canada will continue our passion for delivering great work. We bring unique and strategic creativity that engages consumers emotionally to convert leads into something that grows our clients’ businesses and builds their brands.”
