To help raise money for Hurricane Harvey storm relief efforts, Apple has established a way to make donations to the American Red Cross through iTunes.
Only iTunes customers in the United States will be able to donate in increments starting at $5 all the way to $200. An Apple spokesman said a donate button has been placed on Apple’s homepage.
“This has been an effective channel for donations,” said Apple spokesman Colin Johnson. The company previously encouraged donations to the Southern Poverty Law Center through iTunes.
This isn’t the first time the company has gotten involved in raising money for the American Red Cross. Apple donated $2.5 million in 2012 for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
What is now Tropical Storm Harvey is still wreaking havoc across southeast Texas on Sunday, causing widespread flooding in Houston. The storm is expected to linger over that part of Texas for several days.
