As if you weren’t already dreading losing an hour of sleep for Daylight Saving Time, South by Southwest organizers have sprung a plot twist on attendees hoping to see former Vice President Joe Biden speak at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
SXSW will distribute wristbands at 8:30 a.m. at the Austin Convention Center box office to see Biden discuss his cancer-fighting initiative, according to the festival. (That’s 7:30 a.m. to anyone who doesn’t adjust their clocks Saturday night.)
One wristband will be allowed per person, and the badgeholder seeking the wristband must be present. Sorry, nice friends of folks trying to sleep in. The bands will be put on attendees’ wrists at time of pickup.
“We expect all available Biden wristbands to be distributed on Sunday morning,” according to a festival news release. “If you did not receive a wristband in advance, it is unlikely that you'll be admitted to the session.”
Wristband holders will not be admitted to the session before 2:30 p.m. Sunday. They must be seated by 3:15 p.m, and once the Biden show gets going, none shall pass through the session’s doors.
