New video games out this week:
“StarCraft Remastered.” The remastered edition of one of Blizzard Entertainment’s most enduring franchises includes improved audio and graphics, but adheres to the successful formula that made the real-time-strategy original a classic. It also includes the expansion pack, “Brood War.” Rated T for Teen. $15 download for Windows PC and Mac.
“Sonic Mania.” Speaking of revisiting classics, this similarly revamped game promises HD graphics and crisp frame rates in rebuilding classic levels from the “Sonic” franchise as well as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes with blazing-fast 2-D side scrolling action. Rated E for Everyone. $20, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
