Last October, Google invited podcasters to start submitting their online audio shows for inclusion in the Google Play Music service. Six months later, listeners can finally find them. On Monday, Google announced that it's Play Music app could now access podcasts, at least on Android devices in the U.S. and Canada, allowing smart phone owners to catch "Serial," "The TED Radio Hour" and other popular 'casts.
On Wednesday, Google said it also added podcast support in its main Google App for Android. It's unclear when similar features will roll out for the desktop or for Google's iOS app versions. So far, the experience seems to be wildly inconsistent, according to the website Engadget, but at least it's a start for Android podcast listeners.
