South by Southwest continued its march toward March with another set of programming announcements Monday morning, including four keynote speakers, featured sessions and several new panels.
In an info drop that included programming that spans the increasingly unified Interactive, Film and Music legs of the conference and festival, the list included "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" director Gareth Edwards, popular Beats 1 anchor and DJ Zane Lowe, professor and psychology writer Adam Grant and climber Cory Richards.
Grant and Richards will be Interactive keynote speakers, while Edwards and Lowe will represent SXSW Film and Music, respectively.
Other notable names added to the schedule include Google Internet evangelist Vint Cerf, entrepreneur and TV personality Mark Cuban, actress Kathryn Hahn ("Transparent"), designer Marc Jacobs, University of Texas at Austin president Gregory Fenves and Bumble dating app founder Whitney Wolfe.
Other interesting additions:
- The speakers from last year's "Elephant in the Valley" panel will return with a follow-up, "Elephant on Madison Avenue," about sexual harassment and gender bias in advertising.
- Rabia Choudry, who rose to fame as part of the "Serial" podcast and who now hosts "Undisclosed," will be on a panel with soldier, attorney and podcaster Dennis Robinson.
- Intuit founder Scott Cook will speak on a panel with "Shark Tank" star Robert Herjavec.
- NextEV's Padmasree Warrior will discuss her electric vehicle company in a session.
Previously announced keynotes for SXSW include filmmakers Lee Daniels and Jill Soloway and researcher Jennifer Doudna.
