Austin-based Favor says it’s doubling its Central Texas delivery area

Posted July 17th, 2017

Requesting a Favor or two has never been easier.

Austin-based delivery app Favor said Monday that it has more than doubled its local service area and expanded its hours of operation.

Favor’s increased reach means food from some of the area’s best-known restaurants – plus an assortment of other items – are now just a few taps away for people living in nine new areas: Bee Cave, Bluff Springs, Brushy Creek, Cedar Park, Cedar Valley, Daffan, Manchaca, Pflugerville and Round Rock.

A number of restaurants located in those communities – including Bigcat BBQ, Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill, Chisos Grill, Greenhouse Craft Food, La Bodega Gourmet, Mi Ranchito, Nik’s Italian Kitchen + Bar, Opera Cafe & Coffeehouse and Salt Traders Coastal Cooking – are now available for delivery for the first time, Favor said.

The company’s new hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily.

Favor says Austin is its No. 1 market for late-night deliveries, with runners performing more late-night deliveries here than in all the other markets the company serves combined.

In 2013, its first year in operation, Favor says it made about 15,000 deliveries in Austin. This year, that number is expected to hit 1.5 million here.

Other Texas cities where Favor currently operates include Arlington, College Station, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, San Marcos and The Woodlands.

Favor recently doubled its Dallas and San Antonio service areas and the company says it tripled the size of its Houston delivery zone.

“This has been an incredible year thus far for Favor as we continue to see consumer demand grow across all of our markets,” said Keith Duncan, Favor’s senior vice president of sales and business development. “We’re thrilled … to serve more Texans than ever.”

Altogether, Favor says it has topped 5 million Favors network-wide over the past four years. That milestone was reached in May.

The company employs more than 100 employees – most of them at its headquarters near the University of Texas campus – in addition to more than 20,000 runners, who are independent contractors who set their own hours.

The expanded service areas and hours of operation mean Favor is looking for additional runners. The company is accepting applications at apply.favordelivery.com.
