A massive email phishing scam that was made to appear as if it was a Google Docs attachment affected many American journalists and public school officials Wednesday, but some journalists who didn’t get the email are feeling a bit left out.
Google said Thursday that it had put a top to the scam “within approximately one hour” Wednesday. Within that hour, many journalists who weren’t emailed about the scam tweeted about their feeling left out of the “cool kids” group.
FOMO strikes without warning, apparently.
